Liveblogging as of 11:43 PM EST: …It is another handwritten note from Scooter Libby. “Uranium story is becoming question of presidents trustworthiness & leads all news… Turning to Process: Rove: now they have accepted Joe Wilson as credible expert. We’re 1 day late with getting CIA right response.”

Liveblogging as of 10:35 AM: Prosecution witness David S. Addington, whom the New York Times calls “perhaps the most secretive and publicity-averse employee in the White House,” continues his testimony this morning. Addington was counsel to Vide President Cheney at the time Valerie Plame’s secret identity was disclosed. He subsequently replaced Scooter Libby as chief of staff.

Defense notes that Libby was interviewed by FBI on October 14 and then again November 26, 2003.
Defense intends to review every document introduced by the prosecution as having been reviewed by Addington.
One document dated 11.7.03 is a certification by Libby that he had produced all relevant documents for review.

Liveblogging as of 4:55PM EST: Fleischer recalls telling David Gregory of NBC News and John Dickerson of Time that Ambassador Wilson had gone to Niger at the behest of his wife, who worked for CIA. He volunteered the information; they didn’t ask about it. It came in the context of what a bad week it had been for the Administration. Because the erroneous report had aired on CBS the night before, Fleishcher ‘volunteered’ the information. It was to be his last week on the job–and a miserable week it was turning into!
