You are so right! It is really not "critical" for the media to publish 3 wrong reports (sarcasm) for perhaps one report with some merit. What is "critical" is the enormous sums of money that some of these so-called journalists have managed to carve out for themselves while selling themselves to the Corporate Lobbyists. They have grown "critically" accustomed to receiving this kind of "living wxpense" money. What will they do now that the cardboard house of George Bush is falling down?

Frankel & the New York Times really should be ashamed. To be an apologist for an administration that has done so much to pervert and to destroy our laws is bad enough, but to do so with the authority that appearing in the New York Times still confers is absolutely disgraceful!

What the hell--who in the corporate media in this country gives a damn about credibility anymore? Do these individuals believe that this game will go on forever?

The fact is that Libby was obstructing justice by lying to the investigators. He took one for the team of traitors who outed a CIA covert agent. This was done in order to punish her husband for having called the administration out on lies. These guys won't go down without a fight, they fight dirty, and they have the corporate-owned, consolidated media of this country at their disposal.

...and Max Frankel thinks that our nation is better for it, does he? How much Kool-Aid did it take to get him to see things that way, anyhow?

Nice!

We need whistleblowers and every other source to expose the evils of goverenment and the disgraceful party system. It will take years maybe decades to expose all the things the Bush mob has done to freedom, our economy and the Constitution. Let the investigations roll! The media needs to clean its house-so they do not contribute to the falshoods of government. The know good from bad, outing a CIA is criminal and the reporters that did this are traitors.

This article grapples with the issue of manipulation of information that gets almost to the core of the matter with regard to deception in Washington. But at the absolute core, practically hidden from view now, is 9/11. Without resolution of how that operation was perpetrated, managed, broadcast and communicated, no one is ever going to be able to write a conclusive piece about transparency in Washington. Evidently the pain is just too much for anyone to bare, so we cover it over in layer after layer of dialogue about official deception without ever exposing that critical wound, that if not attended to will prove fatal to the nation.
