I couldn’t find anywhere else on your site to e-mail you, so I’ll comment here.

I have no personal axe to grind on this matter I’m about to mention, I’m a typically white, suburban, middle-class, straight, multi-college degreed male, natural born American.

So, I ask you: With ALL the scrutiny of Imus, why does no one ever mention, or almost never mention, that he is VICIOUSLY, VICIOUSLY HOMOPHOBIC on his show. I don’t listen anymore because his generally horrible demeanor turned me off, but NONE of the scandals surrounding him come close to the egregiously VILE manner in which he, and FAR worse, his Disgusting sidekick Bernie, talk about (read: mock and ridicule despicably) gay people.

Doesn’t anyone in the media ever notice or mention this, or is the “gay lobby” too weak to even merit having attention called to this TRULY horrid behavior by Imus, the self-proclaimed victim?

Thank you for highlighting one of the most insidious trends in our culture. The backlash against political correctness seems to have swung to the “anything goes” extreme. The language we use to talk about anything does make a difference. It’s naive to think otherwise. Certainly, one might appreciate some straight talk without worrying overmuch about using the right adjective; however, labeling as treason anyone who disagrees with the Iraq war is frightening. It’s dangerous to let language and entertainers like this go unchecked.

So, thank you Rory for continuing to bring attention to this situation again and again. It’s definitely necessary and appreciated.
