It's obvious that the LOBBY engaged in a coordinated campaign to smother free speech.

It's also obvious that the only things allowed to be said about Apartheid Israel have to be first approved by the LOBBY.

Ooops, by saying that, does that mean I'm "anti-Semitic?"

For a good documentary to pass on to friends on how our media is filtered and compromised by AIPAC and other Israeli lobby groups:

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6604775898578139565

And for a recent article on how media frames Israeli/Palestinian issues:

http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/la-oe-makdisi19-2009jun19,0,1505080.story

We need to send this kind of information to our representatives in the House and Senate. Much of their campaign funding comes from AIPAC, and some are corrupted by this funding, but there is as much ignorance of the abuses of Israel among legislators as there is among the general U.S. public, maybe more so, as AIPAC gives free trips to Israel to them. Youtube clips of war crimes against Gaza, Israeli soldiers shooting farmers, Israeli patrol boats shooting up fishing boats, etc. are food info to send to our representatives also.

You could have chosen a more straight-forward ad yourselves, something like--to relate an actual event--a woman who looks like a Jewish grandmother saying to a man who looks like a bright young Jewish lawyer in the speaker's bureau of the Israeli embassy, as someone demonstrates what the so-called "rubber bullet" is--a three-quarter-inch ball bearing with a black plastic skin, "This is your rubber bullet?"
So the billboard could be a photo of Israeli Jewish school-girls decorating 155mm howitzer shells to be fired into Lebanon
http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://static.flickr.com/72/192642682_2fea4cce66_o.jpg&imgrefurl=http://sabbah.biz/mt/archives/2006/07/17/photo-of-the-day-israeli-kids-sends-gifts-of-love-to-arab-kids/&usg=__7_HvoD6zc8mRhjXuz6gBqGykj7o=&h=300&w=416&sz=25&hl=en&start=12&um=1&tbnid=uT_Fr5IYH2Xw7M:&tbnh=90&tbnw=125&prev=/images%3Fq%3DIsraeli%2Bartillery%2Bshells%2Bschool%2Bgirls%2Bdecorating%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1
, and the slogan, "This is your Jewish state?"
More direct--less controversial.

The Lamar Outdoor Advertising Company is clearly bowing to political pressure from those that defend Israel no matter what injustices their leaders and military perpetrate. We in the US live in a democracy...where freedom of speech SHOULD be respected and encouraged not squelched. There was nothing "offensive" or dishonest in the original version of the billboards. As an American I too want Congress to attach strings to any aid military or otherwise that we give Israel. Only then will their leaders have incentive to stop the human rights violations, the unchecked settlement building (land theft) and engage in honest participation in a peace process.
